Where is my publication hosted? Do I need to arrange hosting myself?

The platform is a standardized software-as-a-service cloud solution. This means that you don’t need to install any software and that all hosting and maintenance is taken care off.

Our platform is hosted in ISO-certified data centers around the world and are continuously monitored, to guarantee good uptimes and performance. When your publication for example experiences a sudden influx of high traffic, our platform automatically scales additional capacity. You also don’t need to worry about issues like disk space, backups, caching and bandwidth.

Software updates to the platform are included and without additional costs. You can also connect a custom (sub) domain name free of charge.

Can I self-host my publication?

Yes, when your edition is ready, we can export it for self-hosting. This allows you to place the generated HTML files and other assets on your own webserver. The package is in the form of a .zip file. The compressed file contains HTML pages and other files needed to host the publication yourself. This option is only available when the edition has been published.

Note that when you self-host, if we make a change to your publication or create a new edition, you will need to import the edition and upload it to your webserver again. Otherwise, your readers will not see the updates. If you don’t need to self-host, we highly recommend to use our built-in hosting.

Built in hosting and linking your custom project to your own domain. (*RECOMMENDED)

You can connect your own domain name to your bespoke project using DNS. In short: After we have registered your unique project/domain name, on your website backend, go to the DNS settings and add a new DNS record with CNAME record type and we point that to your project name. Once you have you added the record we will connect it to your project on our end. TLS is included free of charge.

Create a new DNS record with CNAME record type and complete as below – and we point the publication to this record.
